Pocket Mug Rugs Are So Easy to Make

They’re Great Gifts, Too!
This charming little round mug mat is so simple to make. You can have several done in just a few hours, making it perfect for last-minute gifts.
Dig through your stash for leftover 10″ layer cake squares. Matching rick rack is a pretty finishing touch, or leave if off if you prefer.
The 10″ squares are folded and layered, creating pockets for treats and such. Insert a special treat and wrap it up for a cute hostess, girlfriend or other gift.
Once completed, the mug mat is about 9″ across. The instructions are from Suzanne at Notes from the Patch.
An updated tutorial by the same designer is available at My Retired Life on the Prairie. You’ll find those updated instructions at the following link. For either version, you can use a plate or other round object to draw the circle.
