Choose One Fabric to Showcase the Stars Against the Scrappy Background!

You’ll love having this wonderful quilt to cozy up with to fend off winter’s chill. There’s just something about it that’s so warm and inviting!

The designer, Marianne Fons, used a combination of log cabin blocks and variable stars to create this beautiful homey quilt.

Libby's Log Cabin Quilt

Give the log cabin blocks a scrappy look by mixing in several fabrics. Your scrap bag and fabric stash will be put to good use here. The more fabrics you use, the more interesting your quilt will be. Just be sure to maintain the light/dark value contrasts so the overall pattern stands out.

We love how this brown and red quilt has pieces of muted gold and turquoise fabrics to give it some zing. However, this pattern will be lovely in any combination of colors.

Make the stars all one color against a lighter background so they stand out.
