Play with the Design to Make this Quilt Your Own
Vary the Colors, Design and Size!
A jelly roll and an accent color combine for a quick and easy quilt with lots of charm. This design is especially fun because, as the designer says, it’s a bit loosey-goosey.
While instructions are provided for the quilt shown here, it’s easy to alter it to suit your own design sense. For example, it will be fun to play with the flow of colors from top to bottom.
Once you have that decided and sewn the strips together, decide where to cut the resulting “made fabric” apart and how wide to make the accent strips.
In this case two fairly wide accent strips were added between strips of made fabric of three different widths. Imagine how the quilt will change with narrower accent strips, and even more of them.
Start with a jelly roll, leftover 2 1/2″ strips, or cut your own strips from your stash. Choose whatever accent color you like best with your strips. Vary the finished size depending on the number of strips you use and the widths of the additional accent strips.
The quilt shown here, by Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict, is 55″ x 84″.
