How to Make Sawtooth Star Blocks in 10 Sizes

Simplified Construction Uses a No-Waste Method!
Sawtooth Star blocks (or eight-pointed stars) are used in so many quilt patterns and they’re extremely versatile. Depending on how many fabrics are used, and how they’re arranged, the blocks can take on several looks.
The blocks are simple to make but Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter has made them even simpler. She uses Flying Geese units for the star points and makes four at a time with a no-waste method.
Whether you’re making Sawtooth Star blocks or simply need Flying Geese units for something else, be sure to give this technique a try.
Amy also provides two charts for blocks in various sizes. One is for Flying Geese units and the other is for Sawtooth Star blocks from 4″ to 20″ square.
You’ll find them both in her tutorial, linked to below.
