They Make Darling Gifts!
These tiny little bears are the perfect way to add that special homemade touch to just about anything. Hang one around the neck of a bottle of wine, tuck another into a bouquet of flowers, add them to wrapped gifts, stuff them into stockings … you can even hang them on the tree.
Start with bits of fleece, felt or wool felt to give the bears a soft and furry look. Hand stitch the lovely hearts and cute facial features, then finish them off with jaunty bows.
While these are made primarily with hand stitching, it’s all simple to do and makes them great take-along projects.
With a little creativity, you can turn the sweet white bear into many other types of bears. The examples below are by Julia Buell.
The finished bears, designed by Caitlin from Little Celandine, are about 2 1/4″ tall.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
