Make a Tiny Featherweight for Your Sewing Room
The Pincushion Makes a Lovely Gift, Too!
This cute little pincushion will be a welcome addition to your sewing room, especially if you love Singer Featherweights. It’s also a wonderful gift for quilting friends and a fun project for quilt groups.
Choose a nice assortment of scraps to depict the cute Featherweight machine. A nine-patch block represents a quilt ready to be sewn and provides color variety.
While this is a great pincushion, the top is large enough to be used as a small block in other projects as well. For example, it could be turned into a mug rug or used as the center of a mini medallion quilt. There are lots of other ways to use it, too.
The finished pincushion, inspired by Sew Happy from designer Kathleen Berlew, is 5-1⁄2″ × 5-1⁄2″ × 2″. The pattern is from American Patchwork & Quilting.
