String-Pieced Pot Holders are so Quick and Easy
Make Them in Scraps for Any Season!
Strips left over from other projects can be quickly turned into charming pot holders using string piecing. This is a simple process that yields wonderful results.
Start by choosing a combination of skinny strips that work well together. Leftover Christmas fabrics will produce lovely gifts. Make a few extra to have on hand for last-minute giving.
Or go with strips for any season or color palette. The more the merrier for a charming scrappy look.

Sew the strips to a square of muslin or other plain fabric that’s the size of the finished pot holders or hot pads (7″ – 9″ is a good size). Add a layer or two of Insul-Bright batting along with cotton batting, layer up the squares, quilt and bind.
