With only half-square triangles, squares, and rectangles, the Continental block goes together in a flash.
Elaine Huff from Fabric404 used batiks for hers (shown above), resulting in a lovely block. It finishes at a versatile 9″ and can be used in many types of projects. Learn how she made her block in the following tutorial.
Julie Baird from Generations Quilt Patterns shows the block in its traditional two-color configuration (shown above). Her tutorial includes a cutting chart for three finished block sizes: 9″, 13 1/2″ and 18″. There’s also a coloring sheet and two methods for making the block.
A tutorial from Art Gallery Fabrics shows how to make the block using multiple prints (shown above). The finished block is 9″ square.
