Scraps are Perfect for This Pretty Block
It Can Be Used In Many Types of Projects!
This pretty block can be used in so many ways. Finish one of the oversized 15″ blocks for a table or wall quilt, string three together for a runner or make several for a larger project.
It’s also a great project for scraps. Choose a combination of 5 1/2″ and 4 1/2″ squares in whatever colors you prefer.
Watch as Lori Holt demonstrates how to make the Criss-Cross Star block in the following video. Her Seams So Easy Seam Guide eases construction. You can get that here. Be sure to choose a color that will show up well against your machine.
Other seam guides will also work. You’ll find ideas here.

One of the great benefits of this block is that the star floats in the block. That means you can’t lose points when sewing blocks together. Nice!
The photo above of Lori’s design board will give you an idea of how the blocks will look in a quilt.
The following screenshot shows what you’ll need to make the block.
We love Lori’s little design boards (seen in the background above). They look nice and they’re so handy. Learn how to make your own here.
