Soft Coloring is Lovely in This Quilt
It’s Great in Any Color Palette!
Subtle coloring lends interest and elegance to this lovely quilt while giving it a bit of a time-worn look. While boldly colored quilts often have a stronger initial impact, those that are softly colored, like this one, tend to draw you in to enjoy the subtleties.
While we love the subdued coloring, bolder prints will be wonderful in this quilt too, as will any color theme. Play with fabrics to create your own special version.
Simple piecing and large areas of background make this a great candidate for showing off your quilting skills with a more intricate design. Or go with a simple overall quilting design such as the one used in the example.
The finished quilt, designed by Julie Porter from Farmhouse Cottons, is 56″ square. It will be easy to enlarge this quilt by adding more rows and columns of blocks.
