Use Scraps for Pretty Patchwork Potholders

They’re Quick, Easy and Make Wonderful Gifts!
Do you have a lot of 5″ charm squares or pieces of 2 1/2″ jelly roll strips on hand? Cut them into 2 1/2″ squares and sew them into easy patchwork potholders.
They’re quick to make and are wonderful gifts so go ahead and make several while you’re at it. In the process, you’ll be making a dent in your scrap pile.
Plus, instructions are provided for two sizes. They both can also be used as insulated pads for hot casserole dishes and pots, although the larger size may be better suited for this.
The designer, Sherri McConnell from A Quilting Life, often uses Insul-Bright batting sandwiched between two layers of cotton batting for extra heat-proofing. Her pattern includes instructions for the following sizes:
- 16-Patch – 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- 20-Patch – 8 1/2″ x 10 1/2″
