Quilted Hexie Hot Pads Are Easy Enough for Beginners

The Great Hexies Tutorial Makes This Project a Breeze!
Hot pads (or trivets) are so handy. You can never have too many of them. These Hexie Hotpads will pretty up your kitchen while using up some of those leftover fabric scraps you have on hand. They’re also great gifts for housewarmings and anyone who cooks.
If you haven’t tried your hand at hexies before, this is a good project to start with. Cintia of My Poppet provides excellent instructions for making hexies and for the hotpads. They’re much easier to make than you may have imagined!
The finished hot pads are about 8″ in diameter.
A layer or two of Insul-Bright batting will make them heat resistant.
