Make a Patchwork Case for Your iPad or Tablet
These Work with Any Tablet and Make Great Gifts!
These iPad cases (and one bag) can be sized to fit any tablet or reader. Plus, they can be made from fabric scraps and go together quickly. They would make great gifts for just about any occasion – simply choose fabrics you know the recipient will love!
Patchwork iPad Sleeve
OK, this project from Robin at robinquiltsetc.com was written for a laptop sleeve, but there are excellent instructions for sizing yours to the device you want to use it for. In fact, these instructions can help you resize most of the projects featured in this article. Use scraps you have on hand, plus one solid or small print for the interior of this quilted sleeve. It closes with velcro.
e-Case Clutch with Pocket
This charming case from Schoolhouse Patterns closes with velcro and has a large pocket for your cord, charger, and other things you want to tote with your iPad. The instructions aren’t free, but we feel it’s worth the small cost for this cover that can be easily adapted to the iPad, iPad Mini or Kindle.
Quilted, Rollable iPad Case
This case from becarella.com wraps around the iPad and secures with velcro. It opens like a book so your iPad can be held in one hand. Acrylic rods allow the cover to maintain its shape when rolled, allowing you to prop up the iPad for easier viewing. Clever!
The instructions can be adapted to fit any tablet. And, think about dressing it up with a quilt block or applique centered on the back of the case!
