Enjoy These Easy Coasters Every Easter
They’re Great for Your Prettiest Scraps!
Dig into your scraps for these pretty Easter egg coasters. They’re so simple to make and will be fun to pull out and enjoy every spring.
The eggs are created with quilt-a-you-go, making them sew up quickly. Top-stitch around the outside edges and trim with pinking shears.
You could also add a bias binding for a more polished look, either by making your own or with bias tape. Or create the tops with standard piecing, layer with batting and backing, and sew them together so they can be turned for encased edges. Quilt and finish the edges with topstitching.
Designed by Lindsay Mayland for American Patchwork and Quilting, the finished eggs are 4″ × 5 1/4″.

A second project, also from American Patchwork and Quilting, features egg coasters made by stitching fabric to cardstock. We love the colors and want to include them here to show how the quilt-a-you-go coasters might look in these colors. However, if you’d like to make this version you’ll find the instructions here. You’ll also need the egg template found here.
