Have you ever considered making a quilt from bandanas? There are so many colors available and the printed designs are often quite beautiful.
Plus bandanas soften so nicely with repeated washings, are less expensive than quilting cotton, and are easy to work with. They impart a cozy, farmhouse personality to a quilt as well.
Three different colors of bandanas are used to make this charming quilt. Choose any color combination you want. Just make sure the bandanas are 100% cotton and at least 22″ square.
You’ll find many bandanas to choose from here. We especially like these two beautiful combinations. Both can be found here.
The quilt’s designer does a nice job of walking you through the process of working with bandanas. You will want to pre-wash them with Color Catchers as they do shrink and often bleed. In fact, you may want to use Color Catchers the first few times you wash the quilt, as well. The extra effort is worth it as any quilt design you choose to make with bandanas will have a wonderful down-home feel.
Once completed, the quilt designed by Claudia from Create with Claudia is 54” x 72”.
