Use Fabric You Love for a Stand-up Organizer

This clever organizer stands neatly near the machine or on your cutting table. Pockets of various sizes keep smaller tools and supplies right where you can find them.
Plus, it folds closed and is ready to go whenever you are. A wide elastic band keeps everything secure.
Pockets of varying depths provide plenty of options for tools. Wider pockets on the back are great for small rulers and such. You can also customize the size of the pockets to fit your favorite tools.
A cover piece rolls up in the front when the organizer is standing and wraps around it when the organizer is closed. That can be used as a pincushion in a pinch, especially if rolled tightly and lined with fusible fleece.
The designer used the front and back covers from an inexpensive 1″ binder to give the organizer structure (or use heavy-duty cardboard). This allows the organizer to stand securely without drooping.
While it’s not specified, it appears that the organizer designed by about 10 1/2″ x 11 3/4″.
A very similar organizer designed by Cathy Ellsaesser for Rocky Mountain Sewing does not have inserted pieces to stabilize it. She used Soft and Stable to give her’s structure.
She also used decorative stitches to add a bit of zing.
And, Velcro was used instead of the wide elastic band to keep the organizer closed.
Choose between the two organizer designs or make your own version by incorporating features from both.
