Use Men’s Shirts or New Fabric!

This colorful quilt was made entirely from men’s business shirts. While it can also be made from quilting cotton it’s a great example of how upcycling used clothing can result in a striking quilt.

The simple design is complemented and made to look much more complex than it is by the use of striped and plaid shirts (or fabric). Other print styles and their placement produce distinctly different looks.

Planning sheets are included with the pattern to help you create your own unique version. This is an easy quilt to sew together and one you can have finished relatively quickly.

The designer, Tara Glastonbury, does not indicate the exact size of the completed quilt although she does say that it can be a throw or a Twin-sized quilt. You can easily make it whatever size you want by adjusting the number of rows and columns.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
