It’s Great for All Kinds of Organizing!

This sweet sewing basket has its own matching kitty pincushion. Even though it was designed for sewing supplies, the basket can be used for storage solutions all around the house. It also makes a charming gift basket.

Pockets around the outside provide extra storage options. Dress up the basket’s top edge with lace or rick rack.

The cute pincushion will be a fun addition to any sewing room on its own. It’s especially nice for a young beginning sewist. The nose and eyes are done with embroidery while pins serve as whiskers.

Both the basket and pincushion are made with cotton canvas, ticking, or even heavier-weight denim can be used (although the pincushion can be made entirely from quilting cotton).

The stiffer fabric lends structure to the basket along with heavyweight fusible interfacing. Quilting cotton prints are perfect for the basket and pocket linings as well as the front of the pincushion.

Designed by Alicia Thommas for Sew 4 Home, the completed basket is approximately 10″ x 6″ and is 6″ deep.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
