Even Beginners Can Create Accurately Pieced Blocks!

This beautiful block turns a Log Cabin block into a charming pumpkin. It’s perfect for autumn and can be used in many types of projects.

We can imagine a few made into a runner, table topper, or wall quilt. One block could grace the front of a bag and several would be lovely in a quilt. You may have other ideas as well.

Log Cabin Pumpkin Block Pattern

While the block is made with paper piecing, the pattern is suitable for beginners. There are no tricky seams and this construction technique will produce an accurately pieced block without having to worry about perfect 1/4″ seams. You’ll find excellent paper piecing instructions here and here.

Designed by Tunce from Iniminiz, instructions and templates are provided for 6″ x 6″ and 8″ x 8″ unfinished blocks.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
