The Classic Fabric Basket Gets All Dressed Up
It’s Great for Bread, Sewing Supplies, and for Giving!
This beautiful fabric basket is all dressed up for dinner. It’s a lovely bread basket for your table or go ahead and use it for sewing supplies and much more.
It also makes a lovely housewarming or hostess gift. Since it’s an easy project and quick to make, you can always have a few on hand for last-minute giving.
Choose two prints that work nicely together for the inside and outside of the basket. Topstitching is a nice finishing touch, as are the pretty bows. Or use buttons instead of bows for a washable basket (or attach the bows with snaps or small pieces of Velcro so they’re removable for washing).
The size of the finished basket designed by Debbie Shore (from The Cotton Craft Co.) was not specified but it appears to be roughly 4 1/2″ high and 9″ square. Note that the tutorial refers to batting as “wadding.”
