This May Be The Best Solution Yet!

Sadly, rotary-cutting rulers tend to slip. That’s not only a good way to waste fabric (and time) with bad cuts, but it can also be dangerous.

There are several ways to make rulers non-slip by adhering grippers to the backs. While that usually works, there can be downsides, such as inconveniently lifting the rulers above the fabric by the thickness of the grippers. In that case, while the rulers don’t slip they also don’t firmly press all of the fabric under the rulers against the mat (only under the grips) so the fabric can shift.

Fortunately, there’s another solution, and it may be the best one yet. A light coating of Odif Grippy Non-Slip Coating makes rulers completely non-slip. All it takes is a light spray and the problem of slipping rulers is solved.

Mary from Joyful and Merry Quilting shows how it works and demonstrates how to apply the spray in the following video.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
