Make a Pillow Cover or Quilt from This Colorful Design
The Pillow Top is a Lovely Small Quilt Too!
This beautiful pillow cover is so pretty in bright spring and summer colors. We love the striped sky blue background pieces, which seem like patches from men’s shirts.
The pillow cover top is nicely sized for a wall or table quilt too. Whether you make a pillow or a small quilt, it will be a lovely addition to your home.
Other color themes work nicely too. Here are some examples to get you started. These and more were found here on the designer’s website.
Pillow by Barbara. The white quilting lines are a great finishing touch.
Small quilt by Hildy made from the pillow top.
A striking example of the pillow in a limited palette of vivid colors by Freia.
We love the special touch of the white quilting design on this small quilt by Nicki.
The completed pillow cover, designed by Nadra Ridgeway, is 20 ½” x 20 ½”. The unfinished blocks are 4 ½” x 4 ½”.
Nadra also provides a pattern for a matching quilt. The larger 8 ½” x 8 ½” (unfinished) blocks allow the colors in the stars to shine.
Individual blocks make charming potholders. We love the cute fussy cut centers in these examples made by Julie. You’ll find other examples of quilts and projects made from this pattern here.
Both the pillow and the quilt are great projects for scraps. The completed quilt is 73 ¼” x 84 ¾”.
