A Simple Design Lets the Colors Shine in This Quilt
It’s Easy Enough for Beginners!
Simple quilts can be so beautiful and this is a striking example. The gorgeous color palette sets it apart and takes full advantage of the quilt’s simplicity.
Each colorful strip is centered between two black (or gray) prints in easy Rail Fence blocks. The wide variety of prints gives the quilt an inviting scrappy look.
While you can use fat quarters and other small cuts from your stash, this is an ideal project for making a dent in your scrap pile. And, it’s so easy to make you won’t need a pattern.
Amber from Gigi’s Thimble started with 2″ x 5″ strips and sewed three together for each block. Her completed quilt is 59″ x 68″ but you can make yours any size by adding or deleting blocks.
The color combination was inspired by a crocheted blanket and shows that just about anything can suggest a color theme for your next quilt. Learn more and how the quilt was made at the following link.
