This Quilt Evokes Strawberry Season All Year Long!
Use Individual Berry Blocks in Smaller Projects, Too!
Strawberries were always a big part of summer while growing up. We’d pick umpteen quarts and make jam, shortcake, salads and more, and freeze extras for winter.
Plus, when in season, we’d snack on fresh strawberries endlessly (there’s nothing quite like sun warmed strawberries eaten right in the patch!).
While we don’t often can and freeze these days, it’s still not quite summer until we have our first strawberry shortcake of the season. The taste and scent of perfectly ripe berries seems like pure sunshine.
This beautiful gem of a quilt evokes memories of strawberry seasons past and the anticipation of that first seasonal shortcake. It’s a breeze to make because the berries are made from simple piecing.
The aqua sashing is perfect with the berry red and green, making this quilt feel just like simmer. We’ll love having this to use and display all year around.
Three quilt sizes are included in the pattern designed by Jocelyn Ueng:
- Crib – 36.5″ x 36.5″
- Lap – 51.5″ x 66.5″
- Twin – 66.5″ x 81.5″
You could also make a throw pillow or small wall hanging from one strawberry square. Three would make a lovely table runner.
