It’s Beautiful in Any Color Theme!
One beautiful print inspired this charming quilt. The designer, Amber Johnson from Gigi’s Thimble, designed the quilt based on the largest squares she could cut from her last piece of that print.
The rest of the fabrics came from her stash and by trading with a friend. It’s fun to see such a beautiful quilt made without buying any fabric (including the pieced backing made from remnants).
You can make your own version using the same process. Start with a favorite print or color palette and shop your stash to see how far you can go without buying anything
Part of the beauty of this classic design is that you can easily make it any size. Amber’s quilt is 70” x 80”. Learn more about the quilt at the following link.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
