Create a Pretty Rope Bowl with Fabric Accents

It’s Easy to Make on Your Home Sewing Machine!

This pretty little rope bowl was designed for jewelry, but it can also hold keys and other small items. It makes a lovely gift for nearly any occasion and is a popular item at craft fairs and bazaars.

The bowl is constructed differently than other rope bowls you may have seen. Instead of wrapping the rope with fabric strips, it’s made with colored 100% cotton rope sewn together with a zigzag stitch. Fabric is used for accents.

A fabric insert in the bottom of the bowl is great for showcasing a favorite print or fussy-cut motif. The bowl can be made with or without a fabric accent stripe and a button to finish off the optional decorative medallion.

This is an easy project and a great introduction to rope bowls. Once you see how it goes together you can easily adjust the size and shape of subsequent bowls.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
