Turn 5″ Squares Into a Generously Sized Bag

| June 16, 2025 | Quilted Bags
You’ll Wonder How You Got Along Without It!
This patchwork bag, with its wide bottom, is a real workhorse. Fill it full of whatever you need for a day at the beach, sleepovers with the kids, and much more. It’s also large enough to tote several quilts.
The charming patchwork design is a simple project. Use laminated fabric to create a water-resistant base (great for damp towels).
Choose a beautiful combination of 5″ charm squares for the patchwork and coordinating prints for the bottom band, lining, and handles. Soft and Stable works well to make the bag sturdy.

The bag designed by Gudrun Erla from G. E. Designs is 12.5″ x 13.5″ x 21″.
