Create a Beautiful Quilt from Two Simple Blocks

It’s a Great Project for Playing with Color!

Two simple blocks and a wide variety of prints create a beautiful quilt to enjoy any time of the year. The quilt will be charming in any color theme and is a great project for scraps.

Choose a combination of prints that clearly divide into light, medium, and dark values. The more prints the better, and mix up fabric styles too. Plaids, ginghams, and stripes will add texture and interest to the quilt.

Notice in the example above that while the light and medium coral color predominates, there are lots of pops of turquoise. Other colors are included as well, but the scrappy look and emphasis on two colors make them all work together.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
