Turn Leftovers Into a Charming Scrappy Quilt

| January 13, 2026 | Quilt Ideas
It’s Easy Enough for Beginners and Fun for All Skill Levels!
Scrappy stars shine in this beautiful throw quilt. It’s colorful, fun, and delightful in any color theme.
Plus, it’s an easy project for quilters of most skill levels. And, the size can be adjusted by adding or deleting blocks.
Shop your stash for scraps, 5″ charm pack squares, 10″ layer cake squares, fat quarters, or yardage. This is a great project for using up leftovers.
Notice how the background is also given a scrappy look, adding interest to the quilt. Pull out a random combination of solid and low-volume neutrals that contrast nicely with the fabrics used in the stars.
The pattern for the quilt designed by Rachel Regonini from Saltwater Fabrics provides instructions for a 64″ x 64″ throw quilt. Adjust the size however you want.
