The American Quilter’s Society has written an excellent article to help you determine when your project is at risk of becoming a UFO. Maybe the quilt is too big or too hard, or you’re just tired of it.

Identify the reasons you’re struggling to stay enthusiastic, then consider the tips that are provided to help you over the hump. In the end, you’ll be glad you worked through the rough patch and finished your project.

Or, you may discover after putting it in time-out, that the right path is to let it become a UFO. That’s OK, as long as you’re at peace with the decision.
