This is a Great Project for Beginners!

Feature a beautiful combination of prints in this lovely table runner. The delicate florals and soft Parisian colors in the fabrics chosen by the designer impart a timeless, romantic look that will be beautiful in any home.

Of course, any color palette and many fabric styles will work nicely in the runner. While its personality will change, the results will be charming and uniquely yours.

French Countryside Tablerunner Pattern

The runner is perfect for beginners and for those who want to give paper piecing a try. Square-in-a-Square foundation paper is used for easy, accurate construction. However, the 4″ finished blocks can also be made the traditional way. Julie Cefalu provides excellent instructions plus a chart for various block sizes here.

The completed runner designed by It’s Sew Emma measures 16.5″ x 48.5″.

Fat Quarter Shop provides video tutorials for making the runner and using the foundation paper at the link below. Follow the links in their article to acquire the free runner pattern, the French General fabric line, the Square-in-a-Square foundation paper, and a kit for the table runner (the fabric and kit are available while supplies last.
