A Lovely Herringbone Runner for a Table and More
Super Easy Strip Piecing Makes This a Quick Project!
This sweet herringbone runner can be used on a table, dresser, or just about anywhere around the home. It’s easy to adjust the size to fit the space you have in mind.
Dig into your scraps (or 5″ charms) for this project, then choose your favorite color for the sashing and border. Also think about making this up for various seasons. This one, by Lori Holt, makes us think of spring and summer.
Lori used a Triangles on a Roll product to guide fabric placement and stitching for the strip piecing. It makes the project super easy, especially with Lori’s excellent instructions for its use. You can get the 6″ braid paper Lori used here.
One nice thing about this project is that you can easily make the runner whatever size you want. Decide on the width and piece the herringbone strips accordingly. Make as many as you need to achieve the length you want.
You’ll have a lot of fun with this runner, and may want to make more than one. It will be a lovely gift for anyone who appriciates quilts.
