Make One Rosette or More With this Quilt Along
One Rosette Will Make a Stunning Table Topper!
This beautiful rosette is part of a quilt designed by Katja Marek. The version you see here was made by Carole Carr, who has created a series of tutorials for machine stitching the fabric shapes together (see below).
The rosette (rosette #1) is lovely on its own. Finish off the edges for a stunning table topper. Or, go ahead and make the other (full and partial) rosettes for the full quilt.
The New Hexagon – Millefiore Quilt by Katja Marek.
The quilt pattern is based on paper pieced hexies, with some of the hexies altered to create the interesting shapes in the rosettes. You’ll need Katja’s book, The New Hexagon: 52 Blocks to English Paper Piece, for basic construction information. You’ll also need paper pattern packs for each rosette in the quilt.
A sew along support group has been created on Facebook, which you can join here. You’ll also find instructions there for purchasing the paper pattern packs. The “official” quilt along took place during 2015 but you’ll find plenty of information and support there.
