Brighten Up a Bathroom with a Patchwork Shower Curtain
This Would Also Make a Fun Quilt Top!
Dress up your guest bathroom with a colorful patchwork shower curtain. Make it bright and sassy like the one shown here, or soft and elegant. Either way, all you’ll need are two favorite jelly rolls and a plastic shower curtain.
The patchwork is backed with a clear plastic shower curtain so that a stained glass effect is achieved when light shines through while showering. This one was designed for a guest bath, and therefore won’t be washed much. If you’ll be washing yours often, then you may want to add a fabric backing between the patchwork and plastic so that raveled edges don’t show.
Designer Maria Elkins stitched the plastic shower curtain to the patchwork front. The curtain is hung by the hanging holes in the plastic curtain. If you’d prefer to keep the two separate for easier washing, add button holes to the patchwork curtain for hanging in front of the plastic one.
