Matching Hot Pads Make a Lovely Set!
Brighten up your table with this charming table runner. The fresh, colorful flowers are given a bit of whimsy with butterflies and yo-yo berries.
Use parts of the applique design to create matching place mats or make companion hot pads for protecting the table (add Insul-Bright batting for heat proofing). The runner can also be hung as a wall banner anywhere around the home.
Construction is simple, even for beginning quilters. Fusible applique with a machine blanket stitch goes quickly, as do the handmade yo-yos. Or substitute appliqued circles if you’d prefer not to make yo-yos.
You’ll find the runner and hot pad patterns in Birds, Butterflies & Blooms by Chris Malone.
The “Branching Out Table Runner” is 40″ x 15″, while the “Branching Out Hot Pads” are 9″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
