Cardinals Make This Patchwork Tote Special

| September 15, 2017 | Quilted Bags
You’ll Love How Easy This is to Make!
Pretty red cardinals line the top edge of this beautiful tote bag. The body of the bag is made from soft taupe and gray patchwork, similar to the lighter colors found in female cardinals. Together they give the bag an appealing classy look.
The bird blocks are made from easy paper piecing. This is a great project to try that technique with if you haven’t done so already. You’ll be thrilled with how precise the piecing is and how easily the bag goes together.
You can substitute blues if you want, making the birds into blue jays. Or, use more vivid reds and stronger colors in the patchwork for a bolder bag made from the pattern by Jodie Davis.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
