Celebrate Summer Every Year with This Fun Quilt
It’s Bright and Colorful Just Like the Season!
This festive little quilt embodies the fun, sunny spirit of summer. Celebrate the season by displaying it on your wall every year.
Small amounts of vivid colors against white make it perfect for scraps. You may already have everything you need in your stash.
The row-by-row quilt was presented as a quilt-along by the designer, Julie Cefalu from The Crafty Quilter. Consequently, construction is broken down into bite-sized tutorials.
If you dislike applique, the word “Summer” can be omitted. Julie offers these substitution ideas:
You could substitute another 2 1/2″ wide sashing strip of background fabric in its place.
Find a rainbow-colored fabric or a summer scene print to replace this section with.
Add a row of your favorite quilt block instead. You could make five 6 1/2″ squares of something. Maybe paper piecing is your thing.
The finished quilt is 30″ x 32″.
