Celebrate the End of Summer with Pretty Sunflowers
The Block Can Be Used in Many Projects!
Nothing announces late summer quite like beautiful sunflowers. Their sunny faces and bright yellow colors are fun and cheerful and remind us of the fall harvest to come.
This beautiful block is a lovely representation, with pretty sunflowers sprouting from spools of thread. The block can be used in many types of projects, like bags, wall hangings, runners, and more. Or make several for a quilt.
The block is part of a sampler quilt presented as the 2023 Year of Spools Block of the Month quilt-along. You can see all of the fun blocks here and learn more about the quilt-along here.
The completed sunflower block (with 2 flowers), designed by Heather Briggs from My Sew Quilty Life, is 14” x 14” with white borders and 12” x 12” without the borders. One sunflower finishes at 6″ x 12″ without borders.
