Decorate Bound Edges with Buttons and More

Finish Your Quilt with a Special Touch!
Are you looking for a way to give your quilt a little something extra? By decorating the edges you can take a quilt from good to great.
Buttons, fringe and beads are simple to add and can take any quilt to the next level. While they’re all simple to do, they do take time so you may want to try this first on a small project.
Katie Chicarello has written a tutorial for The Quilting Company that walks you through the steps of all three finishes. As she says:
“Sometimes, all a piece needs to take it to the next level is a smattering of beads, a scattering of stitches, or a splash of colorful buttons.”
Whether you decorate one, two or all four edges, any of these methods will make a good quilt special.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
