This classic block offers so many design options. Since it’s a variation of the popular Log Cabin block, you can use it in many of the same quilt designs.
Plus, more options are available if you make the “logs” in the entire block close in value, rather than light on one side and dark on the other. There are many ways to arrange the colors, values, and resulting blocks to create a special quilt.
Give the blocks a scrappy look (or even use scraps) and let the line of squares unify the quilt. Or go with a coordinated color theme. Either way, you’ll get beautiful results.
