Make a Bed Quilt, Table Topper and More!
This intriguing block can take on several looks and be used many ways. Play with size, colors and fabric styles for whatever project you have in mind.
Instructions are provided by the designer, Deanna from Wedding Dress Blue, for blocks in four sizes: 10″, 14″, 21″ and 28″.
The largest block can be finished off for a table topper or wall quilt. With borders, it makes a charming baby quilt (like in the example below, which measures 36-1/2″ x 36-1/2″). Learn how the quilt was made here.
Photoshop shows how the quilt will look in another color palette.
Several blocks will make a lovely quilt. Give it a scrappy look by using a wide variety of fabrics (and scraps).
The following quilt top was made with 10″ squares, although you can use whatever size you prefer. Sashing with cornerstones was added to set the blocks apart. Learn more about the quilt here.
A fancier sashing was used for the following quilt, made with 14″ blocks. The sashing appears to be made of strips that are the same width as the four-patch blocks in the star blocks (cut at 1 1/2″). It’s easy to imagine it as a bed sized quilt. Learn more here.
Block instructions are provided as a quilt-along. You’ll find a lot of tips and options included.
