Or Make Several for a Larger Quilt!
This beautiful oversized Dresden Plate block is part of a quilt-along sponsored by Moda Bakeshop. The festive colors caught our eye and the size captured our imagination.
The block finishes at 20″ square, which makes it perfect for a table topper or little wall quilt. Finish the block off by layering, quilting and binding it.
Or, add borders, to make a larger table or wall quilt. We can imagine a narrow piano key border (pieced from the fabrics used in the Dresden plate) with borders of white on either side of it.
Play with the border layout and the block’s colors to make your own eye-catching small quilt. Of course, you can also include the block in a larger project or make several for a Dresden Plate quilt.
The finished block, designed by Mary Andra Holmes, is 20″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
