Large Prints Make a Gorgeous Quilt
Select Prints Close in Value for a Dreamy Watercolor Effect!
Two beautiful floral prints, one darker than the other, inspired this beautiful quilt. There’s just enough value contrast between the two to create a lovely overall design once the blocks are stitched together.
Each block is a large half-square triangle (learn how to make 8 at a time here). They are accented with sashing and cornerstones in matching colors. The result is a gorgeous quilt that is super easy to make.
Because of the large prints and the mottled sashing, the quilt has a watercolor look, adding to its appeal. The close values also contribute to the softness of the design.
Deeper colors and stronger contrasts turn this into a striking, eye-catching quilt. Play with color and value to create your own unique version.
The finished quilt, from designer Liz Porter, is 84 1/2″ x 101 1/2″.
The “Garden View” (or “Garden Window”) quilt pattern can be found in Easy Quilts Summer 2018.
