Make This Lovely Block from Pre-Cuts, Scraps or Yardage
It’s Great in Prints for Any Season!
This pretty block is easy to make and offers many design possibilities. It’s great in coordinated color themes as well as when given a scrappy look.
Seasonal prints are beautiful in the block. Or dig into your stash. It’s a great project for leftover 5″ charm squares as well as 1/8-yard cuts.
Three blocks will make a lovely runner, four can be a table topper or make more for a larger quilt. The blocks work nicely with or without sashing.

For efficient, accurate piecing the block can be constructed from strip-pieced sections and then sub-cut into units. It can also be made from individual squares and rectangles cut from 5″ charm squares. Instructions are provided for both approaches.
The finished block, designed by Julie Cefalu from The Crafty Quilter, is 12″ square.
