Change the Mood by Simply Changing the Colors!
A beautiful large scale print and a matching border fabric are the basis for this gorgeous quilt. In this case, stunning butterflies on a black background guided the selection of the other fabrics. The result is a harmonious richly colored quilt.
Fabric selection is key for this pattern. It will be lovely in softer fabrics and in colors for every season. Select the large scale print and find a border fabric with the same or similar colors.
Once you have those fabrics, choose colors from the print to emphasize. Notice how the contrast of the black sashing (dark) and turquoise strips (light) help to bring the quilt alive.
It’s a very simple quilt to stitch together once you’ve found your fabrics. Even beginning quilters can complete this quickly.
The pattern, from Little Red Jug, is for a 60″ x 60″ quilt. Instructions are also included for a queen size quilt.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
