Pull Together Scraps with a Great Border and Dark Accents
Choose a Beautiful Fabric to Showcase in This Quilt!
Have you ever found a gorgeous print fabric you want to save for something special? This wall quilt may be just what you’re looking for.
Select a fabulous fabric for the border then play off of that for the rest of the quilt. Choose several fabrics of similar color and value that go well with the border fabric, then set everything off with a dark fabric for the brown you see in this quilt. The dark fabric defines the overall pattern, adding contrast to the lighter fabrics used throughout the quilt.
The centers of each block are made with rows of 2″ squares. This ingenious technique will save time and increase your accuracy when piecing a lot of little squares.
The finished quilt is 49 1/2″ square and will be lovely on your wall or table. It would also make a nice baby quilt when made with bright youthful fabrics. The pattern is from American Patchwork and Quilting.
