Scraps Make an Impressive Table Topper
Choose Two Accent Colors to Tie Everything Together!
Small Pineapple blocks made from scraps combine beautifully in this pretty little table mat. The red and black accents tie everything together into a charming little quilt.
We can easily imagine this in many other color combinations. Simply choose two accent colors that work well with your scraps for a lovely rendition.
The blocks are small so the instructions specify paper piecing. If you haven’t tried that yet, give it a go with this pattern. You’ll produce accurate blocks and a crisp finish.
Of course, if your standard piecing is up to snuff, you can do that instead. Create cutting templates from the paper piecing pattern. Just be sure to add seam allowances.
The finished topper, designed by Connie Kauffman, is 20″ x 20″. You can easily make it larger by using a copier to enlarge the block pattern. Then enlarge the outer triangles (Prairie Points) to fit.
You’ll find the “Fireside” table topper in Terrific Table Toppers.
