Sew Up a Pretty Runner for Summer or Any Time

It’s a Great Project for Leftovers!
A beautiful combination of prints in soft colors creates a charming runner to enjoy all summer. It will also be lovely in other color themes, including those for various seasons.
Start with scraps, 5″ charm squares, or 10″ layer cake squares for the center blocks. Choose a background, borders, and binding to complement the star colors. We love how the red binding echoes the center stars and adds a bit of zing to the finished runner.
We couldn’t resist playing in Photoshop to see the runner in Christmas colors. Darker colors in any color theme will be beautiful too.
The completed runner, designed by Sherri McConnell from A Quilting Life, is 20 1/2″ x 46 1/2″.
