Shop Your Stash for This Striking Scrappy Quilt
The More Fabrics the Merrier!
Small squares of fabric create a wonderful design in this stunning quilt. It’s a great project for scraps and other goodies from your stash.
Create a coordinated color theme, as in the quilt shown here, or do anything-goes scrappy. Just be mindful of values to make the most of the overall design.
While this is a simple quilt to make there is quite a bit of sewing involved. It would be a good “bonus quilt” project, using pairs of squares for leaders and enders while working on other projects (learn more here).
The finished quilt, designed by Sarah Maxwell and Dolores Smith of Homestead Hearth, is 110 3⁄4″ square (king-size with 17″ drop). Use smaller squares for a Queen sized quilt. You’ll need to do the math but even 1/4″ reduction in patch size will make a substantially smaller quilt.
