It’s Beautiful in a Stronger Palette, Too!

Choose a pretty print to use as the focal fabric in this beautiful quilt. Fat quarters with subtle designs frame the focal-fabric rectangles for a new take on the Courthouse Steps block.

The result is a lovely quilt that will be beautiful in any color theme. Plus, it’s a relatively quick project that both new and experienced quilters will enjoy.

The soft colors chosen by the designer are so cozy and inviting. Stronger colors will be beautiful, too.

Designer Taunja Kelvington from Carried Away Quilting has this wonderful tip for selecting fabrics:

“Many of you say that selecting colors and prints outside of a curated bundle is just too scary, but I want to encourage you to trust your instinct. Trust what makes your heart happy, and you’ll find a combination of fabrics that look great in your finished quilt.”

That’s good advice for any quilt project and worth remembering. Learn more about the quilt and fabric selection here.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
